Connecting to WiFi

Modified on Wed, 19 Jun at 2:57 PM

There are 3 different paths that can be used to connect your lock to WiFi:

  1. During the Lock Registration process
  2. Re-Connect/Connect within Lock View
  3. Via Web Browser/Lock AP Mode (use if having trouble connecting from Mobile App)

1. Connecting Lock to WiFi During Lock Registration

After successfully registering your lock, you will be directed to connect your lock to WiFi. Click on the Connect To WiFi button.

Please Note: If you do not Connect to WiFi, you will not be able to manage several aspects of your lock, such as Access Users (PIN codes), Lock Settings, and Schedules. This is because these aspects of the lock are managed over WiFi.

After clicking on the Connect to WiFi button, the lock will scan for WiFi networks within range and display networks in the app.

Note: If there is any issue during this step, close down the app completely and re-start. If the issue still persists, pull a battery from the lock and then put back in. Then try again.

Select the network you would like to connect the lock to.

Note: Your WiFi network should have 50% or greater signal strength for reliable connectivity. If not, adjust the location of your router to be in closer proximity of the lock.

Enter your WiFi router’s password and click Connect. The lock will then connect to the router and then authenticate with the cloud servers.

Note: Upon first connection, some additional configuration will occur (like setting the time on the lock). This can take about 20 seconds on first connection.

After the lock successfully connects to the WiFi network, you will hear the lock beep twice and the app will show the success screen.

Click proceed to complete.

2. Re-Connect/Connect within Lock View

If you did not connect to WiFi during Lock Registration, or you need to re-connect to WiFi for any reason, this can be done from within the Lock Detail view. Click into your lock to see your lock status.

Note: You must be within Bluetooth range/near proximity to your lock to connect your lock to WiFi. If you see the Bluetooth signal icon as shown below, then you will be able to click on the WiFi Signal icon to re-connect to WiFi.

After clicking on the Connect to WiFi button or the WiFi icon, the lock will scan for WiFi networks within range and display networks in the app.

3. Web Browser/Lock AP Mode

If for any reason connecting to WiFi within the mobile app is not functioning, the lock has the ability to be connected to WiFi via a web browser on a mobile device. This can be done via the following steps.

1. Trigger the Lock's AP Mode

This will cause the lock to produce a WiFi network that you can connect your mobile device to. To trigger AP mode on the lock, enter the following on the lock's keypad (after powering with batteries)"

Programming Code (123456 by default), Lock/Unlock Button, 320, Lock/Unlock Button

After entering the above, the lock should beep twice and flash green.

2. Connect to the Lock's Network

  • On your mobile device, go to Settings, then WiFi
  • Connect to the network called "KoreLock_WiFi" (These locks are powered by KoreLock)

3. Open Web Browser

On your mobile device, open your web browser and navigate to 192.168.4.1

4. Select Network and Enter Password

Finally, select the network to connect your lock to and enter the password. If successful, your lock should beep twice and flash green. This can take up to 20 seconds to connect.

Note: Your WiFi network should have 50% or greater signal strength for reliable connectivity. If not, adjust the location of your router to be in closer proximity of the lock.
