1. Sign-in
After signing up, you will be routed back to the app and prompted to add your first device.
2. Add Lock
After clicking the Add Lock button on the app dashboard, the app will scan for any powered KoreLock locks within Bluetooth range (ensure batteries are installed in the lock).
If multiple locks appear on the list, ensure you select the correct lock by confirming the serial number on the back of the lock you are installing.
Note: locks previously added will not show on this list.
After selecting the lock to add, name your lock.
Your lock needs to be added to a location. For your first lock, you will be prompted to Add a New Location.
Enter the Location Name.
Enter the Location Address (optional)
Select the Time Zone for the location. Note: this time zone will set the time on the lock so it's important to select the correct option.
After successfully creating the location, you will be directed back to the Add Lock Screen. Save Lock.
When the lock has been connected for the first time and there is an available firmware update waiting, you will be redirected to complete that while on site. Click Continue to start the firmware update – this may take about 30 seconds, leaving the lock unresponsive during this time.
The app will start the update and keep you updated by providing a progress status.
Once the download is complete, there will be a pop-up notification confirming the success of the new firmware!
3. Connect Lock to WiFi
After successfully registering your lock, you will be directed to connect your lock to WiFi. Click on the Connect To WiFi button.
Please Note: If you do not Connect to Wi-Fi, you will not be able to manage several aspects of your lock, such as Access Users (PIN codes), Lock Settings, and Schedules. This is because these aspects of the lock are managed over Wi-Fi.
If you choose to Connect Later, you can also connect to Wi-Fi by clicking on the Wi-Fi icon (when within Bluetooth range of the lock) on the lock detail screen.
Note: Tapping on the Wi-Fi icon (shown below) is also how you can connect the lock to a new Wi-Fi network or update your connection after changing your router’s password.
After clicking on the Connect to WiFi button or the WiFi icon, the lock will scan for WiFi networks within range and display networks in the app.
Select the network you would like to connect the lock to.
Enter your WiFi router’s password and click Connect. The lock will then connect to the router and then authenticate with the cloud servers.
Note: Upon first connection, some additional configuration will occur (like setting the time on the lock). This can take about 20 seconds on first connection.
After the lock successfully connects to the WiFi network, you will hear the lock beep twice and the app will show the success screen.
Click proceed to complete.
4. Viewing Your Lock
After adding your lock, the app will land on the Lock List view. This is the default view when logging into the app, or when clicking on the Home button on the bottom navigation bar.
Select a lock to view.
When landing on the Lock Detail view, the app will scan to see if the lock is within Bluetooth range. During this scan, the status will show as "Syncing".
If your lock is NOT within Bluetooth range, the app will sync with the cloud for the latest status of the lock. This status will appear after 5 seconds, after the app determines the lock is not within Bluetooth range.
If your lock IS within Bluetooth range, the app will display the Bluetooth signal and the lock status communicated over Bluetooth.
5. Locking and Unlocking
To lock or unlock the door from the app, click on the round lock status button. In this example, clicking on the Locked button will Unlock the door.
Locking/Unlocking Over Bluetooth
Because this lock is within Bluetooth range of the lock (as is shown by the presence of the Bluetooth Signal icon), the lock will unlock within a couple seconds of pressing the button.
Locking/Unlocking Over WiFi
If you are not connected to the lock over Bluetooth, you will only see the WiFi icon at the top of the lock detail view.
Because the lock’s WiFi is not always on, there can be a delay from the time you press the button and when the lock connects to WiFi to receive the unlock command.
If unlocking over WiFi, the app will display a confirmation message to ensure this is understood by the user.
The status will then show Pending to indicate the lock will receive this command upon its next connection to WiFi.
